HISTORY

Many years ago, Claudius, the Crown Prince of Hanalan, was hunting and came across something more than the usual game: he discovered a young girl who seemed quite mad at first, however later some reason was found beneath the madness. The Prince was fascinated by the strange young girl and decided to bring her back to Floran with him. Once there she was taken Yorick, one of the court jester’s, under whose training she was able to forge herself under a new identity: Flower, court fool extraordinaire.

From the moment Flower first appeared in the court, she has been a figure of much mystery. Most believe that she was stolen away by the fairies one night and her wits lost. Others see that behind her strange and seemly random actions, there is some pattern, some method to the madness. And it is those people who began one of the greatest pastimes of Hanalan’s royal court: the game of trying to decipher the riddles and codes that Flower uses, to discover what she is talking about and to seek what exactly she is.

A member of the Court for many years now, Flower is the foremost fool, a spot she inherited from her mentor Yorick when he passed away. She is a favourite of now-King Claudius, who discovered her.

PERSONALITY

Flower is is a very creative person, but most of what she creates seems to be intended to confuse people, to force them to have to think in order to understand. She is very unpredictable and erratic, though she is generally good-natured, even when at times, as a Fool, she is poking fun at those around her. It has also always been very clear that she is extremely intelligent, as she is able to come up with her riddles on the spot, with very little visible effort. However, it is also clear that her grasp on reality is somewhat questionable at best, though it would be untrue to classify her merely as insane.

She is never still. Some part of her is always in some sort of motion, whether it be a tapping foot or clinking teeth, though more often she is swaying to some music that only she hears.

Flower is also very intuitive, being able to read many things just from watching a person and studying them. There are times when she is so accurate that some have even suggested that she might have psychic abilities.

APPEARANCE

Flower is very tall, even taller than the average Hanalan man. She usually wears very elaborate clothes and always has a flower painted around her left eye, though whether this is because of her court name or the cause of it is unknown. Her eyes are a striking shade of violet and often seem to be looking at some place far off in the distance, except when she is giving someone her complete attention and they become quite piercing. She usually keeps her purple hair pulled back under one of her many large hats. She has a very solid frame and very few evident curves, which together with her height have lead to speculation that she is in fact a man, though no one has ever been able to corroborate this theory. Underneath her elaborate costumes, Flower always goes barefoot.
